DIY: Christopher Kane Jelly Clutch, Perfect For Halloween!

The Christopher Kane Jelly clutches are amazing, expensive and hard to get hold of, I really wanted one but I also fancied having a go at making one myself. After attempting to do it a few different ways and failing, I came up with this clutch, It didn't take me very long and hasn't leaked at all.

Things you will need:

PVC - about half a metre.
Card 2x a3
Food colouring
Water retaining crystals.
Cheap hair straighteners.

1: Draw a rectangle, I drew round a medium sized book. Inside the rectangle draw two curves at the bottom corners, and then draw squiggly lines up the sides.
2: cut it out, lay it on another piece of paper and draw round it.
3:Draw a dot in the middle of the top like and then square up.
4: Draw a triangle that meets at the centre line, then inside the triangle do the same squiggle effect. Cut it out.
5: Lay the pieces on the PVC, using something heavy to prevent it from moving, then draw round the pieces with a marker and cut them out with some sharp scissors. Cut out two pieces from each pattern piece.

Your pieces should look the same.
7: To seal the sides I used hair straighteners, mine are cheap ones from a carboot. The plastic doesn't stick to the plates it comes straight off, I wouldn't advise you to use expensive hair straighteners.
I clamped down on the sides about 0.5cm of the way into the bag, all the way around. I left about an 1'' gap to fit a funnel down.

For the goo, I used water retaining crystals mixed with water, food colour and soap.

I placed the funnel in the gap and poured the goo in, I quickly sealed the gap with the straighteners.

You should now have two goo filled pouches which look like this, place the smaller pouch on top of the bigger pouch and seal together round the edges with the straighteners.
You will now hopefully have something that looks like this, you can use any colour goo you want. I wanted to use red so that it resembled a saline bag filled with blood. I think that this would be perfect for Halloween, especially if you could get some of those plastic eye balls and spiders and pop them in your bag too!

Blue Velvet

Top: Charity shop, Skirt: Topshop, Belt: Carboot, Necklace: H&M, Boots Carvela Kurt Geiger c/o Harrods, Tights: Topshop.

I think its officially autumn now, which means its officially time to start complaining about all the first world winter problems that British people encounter on a daily basis.

1: wishing you had bought a coat with a hood because you now look like a drowned rat.

2: The crotch part of your tights riding down to your knees forcing you to walk like a robot.

3: chapped lips, cold hands, numb toes.

4: fuzzy socks not being considered stylish.

5: Thinking its cold in the morning, so you wrap up in every woollen item you own only to overheat at about 3pm.

6: Having your cup of tea go cold within 5 minutes.

7: wishing it would get colder because you cant decide whether or not to crack out the humongous fur coat ala 'Thrift Shop'

8:Being on your second cold of the winter despite it only just being autumn.

9:Cherishing the two hours between hay fever ending and a cold beginning.

10:Seeing the return of big coats and baggy jumpers as a green light to consume up to fifteen jacket potatoes per day.

Carboot Finds #2

If you have tried to get on my blog within the past 3 weeks, you will have noticed that my domain had been suspended, long story short don't choose to host your domain with 'Crazy Domains', they are a total pain in the arse to communicate with.
Anyway, in the past three weeks I have started college which is much better than school but the work load seems to have tripled, it's like when I try and juggle I think I'm amazing when I do it with two balls and I then realise your supposed to use three to be actually juggling, well I think I'm on track with work and then realise there is a whole other project I've forgotten about.
Today I went to the Carboot, and I'm rather pleased with my finds. The first two scarfs are my favourite buys, I like to stock up on things like that second hand because they are always dirt cheap and better quality, the first one is 70% cashmere 30% wool and from Scotland, the second one is wool and from M&S - they were both 50p!
I picked up the silver tray for £1.50, it was horribly tarnished so I went straight home and polished it. Probably the only circumstance you'd see me polishing at 8.00am. I put it on my bedside table to hold all my makeup.
The candle was 50p and is Rose scented so of course I had to have it, I've never tried the bomb cosmetics candles so I'm looking forward to trying this out.
Thanks for reading, Rose xo
