Green Corduroy

Jacket & Top: Topshop, Trousers: charity shop, Shoes: ASOS

I took these photos at about 9am, which is why my eyes are closed in half the photos. It's way to early for a human being to function especially in the Christmas holidays, but I got a job recently and I've had to figure out a way to get photos that aren't taken in the dark and still earn money. I picked up these green/gold corduroy jodhpurs in a charity shop yesterday for £3.70! I'm amazed at how well they fit, there the perfect length and they fit exactly to my waist, I'm trying to make them look as non horse ridery as possible because I don't ride/own horses, and I don't want people thinking I've just come back from the grand national. I saw some similar ones in American Apparel (here) but not as nice and £64, so I was very pleased when I found these. Very warm, very cheap and very comfy. Just what I like. I wasn't really sure what to wear them with as they're quite an odd colour, so I decided to keep everything else simple and black (apart from the shoes obvs)

Evil Twin Velvet Dress

Dress: Evil Twin, Jacket: Topshop, Bag: Ralph Lauren via Charity Shop, Shoes: ASOS

As you may have noticed, the blog has undergone some changes. I have re-jigged everything in an attempt to make it look a bit sleeker. I'm still tweaking little bits here and there, but I'm mostly finished! Last night I created a Facebook page for Fashion Rhapsody, I was quite nervous about doing that, I'm not really sure why, but I did it anyway. It would be very nice if you could go give the page a like, and maybe even a cheeky share?!

I bought myself this dress a few months ago, it was in the Urban Outfitters sale. I've always liked Evil Twin but the prices are a little steep, I managed combined 2 discount codes bagged it for about £20, and for that price,  it would have been rude to not get it considering the RRP was about £80. I love the cut out detailing at the top, and that the velvet is made to look like snakeskin. The dress hangs really nicely and swishes when I walk. I want to add more Evil Twin to my wardrobe now!

BLACK SHEEP

Jacket Topshop Skirt: charity shop, Shoes: Topshop, topH&M, scarf: Carboot

I've just broken up for Christmas and have spent the past few days sleeping, eating and watching crap day time TV,  and no, Mum I do not want to apply to be in the next series of bargain hunt with you -sorry. I can't really believe that it's only a week until Christmas, I have yet to make my presents! I have a feeling I will probably end up giving everyone framed selflies of themselves and the odd Jaffa cake.

More Scottish Than Her.

Cape: Charity shop, Jeans: BDG, Shoes: Topshop (sold out, similar here:) , Socks: Topshop, lace top: H&M, velvet top: charity shop.

Yesterday I was on my way to a haberdashery to pick up some stuff for one of my fashion projects, and as I was making the effort to walk into town, it would have been silly of me to not go into the charity shops. I'm a huge fan of tartan, probably because I have a grandma who is so Scottish she covered her sofa in the family tartan, anyway I found the cape of my dreams and ran to the till.
I wore it last night when I went to see my grandma. As soon as I walked through the door, I had both my mum and my grandma staring at it. My grandma went fishing through her tartan dictionary, but my mum beat her too it, and identified it as Anderson tartan. My grandma was very bewildered as to how my mum had managed to guess that it was Anderson tartan before she did, and even accused her of reading it off the label (it's not written anywhere on or in the cape). When my mum left the room, my grandma looked at me, her eyes darting quickly from my face to the door, and whispered to me:
'how the hell did she know that? I'm more Scottish than her!'
